How can you support Canadian Lutheran World Relief beyond opening your wallet? Become an Awareness Builder in your community and help share CLWR’s story! CLWR would value your help in making presentations, sharing information about new CLWR programs and keeping us in touch with your community.
CLWR has a small staff headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with two satellite offices in Toronto and Vancouver that manage our refugee program. Administration expenses make up a small portion of the CLWR operating budget, which means donations are used effectively to make a difference in the world. But it also means CLWR has limited capacity to make itself known to Canadians. That’s where our Awareness Builders—and you—come in.
By volunteering as an Awareness Builder and sharing CLWR information with your community, you help us save financial resources for actual aid and development. You also serve as an important way for feedback to get back to CLWR from your own community, so that we can improve our communication and education materials.
As an Awareness Builder you would assist CLWR by being a
- Make presentations to groups in your community using resources CLWR provides
- Help organize CLWR events in your church, school or community
- Write about the work of CLWR for your local newspaper
- Encourage and coordinate Four Corners consignment sales
- Relay feedback from your community to CLWR
