Manitoba employees support CLWR
The public employees of the government of Manitoba have made a donation of $2,500 to CLWR through the All Charities Campaign, which allows current and retired employees to give to charities of their choice. The monetary gift is undesignated, which means that it will be used where needed most to support CLWR’s life-giving programming. CLWR is a listed recipient agency with the campaign.
“CLWR is grateful to the Province of Manitoba All Charities Campaign for the recognition of our valued work and services, thereby helping to promote our efforts to thousands of potential donors for which we are truly appreciative,” says Marc Desrosiers, CLWR’s resource generation director.
The All Charities Campaign represents 20,000 current and former employees. Its mission is to encourage philanthropy and to provide current and retired employees of the Manitoba Government and its affiliates with an annual convenient method of giving to registered charities of their choice.

The refugee life
None of us are likely to ever ask our self the questions that someone in a refugee camp faces: Are me and my family safe here? Will we get the things we need to survive? How long must I stay?
In order to better understand the struggle that refugees face in camps around the world, CLWR encourages you to consider holding a refugee simulation using our program, In Exile for A While (available at www.clwr.org).
If you live in Western Canada there is a special opportunity this autumn to experience what it’s like to be a refugee. An educational exhibit is touring Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver to show people common elements of a refugee camp. These include emergency refugee housing, food distribution, and health and vaccination treatment.
Here is a list of dates and locations of the refugee exhibit, which is organized by another recognized agency:
Winnipeg, September 11-14, The Forks
Edmonton, September 18-21, McIntyre Park
Calgary, September 25-28, Olympic Plaza
Vancouver, October 2-6, Vancouver Public Library – North Plaza
