Celebration of Global Hope
On the evening of Thursday, October 29, about 100 Canadian Lutheran World Relief supporters and staff came together at the Park Theatre in Winnipeg to celebrate the successes of CLWR.
Inspired by the various regions of the world where CLWR engages in community development work, the program included performances by dance groups from the local Ghanaian and Indian communities and a light buffet featuring appetizers such as causas (Peru), hummus and flatbreads (Middle East), samosas (India) and plantain fritters (Africa).
Robert Granke spoke about CLWR's work in Ethiopia relating firsthand stories of how water well projects change the lives of people. Greetings were also brought by Ruth Vince, Executive Director of Evangelical Lutheran Women and Rev. Dieter Kays, President and CEO of Faithlife Financial. Their organizations, along with Regehr's Printing, were presenting sponsors for the evening.
