Are your staff available to speak at my church or group meeting?
Yes. We have staff in Winnipeg, Toronto and Vancouver as well as knowledgeable volunteer presenters across Canada. Please call your nearest CLWR office.
Are you a registered charity?
Yes. We have been a federatlly registered organization since 1946.
Where do you get your funding?
We are funded through public donations, provincial and federal grants, and the two main national Lutheran churches in Canada: Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, and Lutheran Church–Canada.
Does CIDA match my donation dollar-for-dollar?
In the past we could say CIDA matched your personal donation
"dollar-for-dollar." Today, the formula is a bit more complex. Donations received by CLWR for development work in Bolivia, Peru, Mozambique, Zambia and India allow us to access additional funding from CIDA. In order to qualify for our annual CIDA grant we need to raise a specified number of dollars from our constituency. Generally, money raised from the constituency allows CLWR to access an additional one to three dollars from CIDA.
