Canadian Foodgrains Bank: Growing Projects

Community growing projects allow people to contribute grain and other agricultural commodities to help people who are hungry around the world. These projects normally involve a group of people working together to farm a common plot of land. After harvest, the crop is donated through the Canadian Foodgrains Bank to Canadian Lutheran World Relief for overseas food aid and agricultural development projects.

Community growing projects provide participants with a strong sense of community spirit because growing a crop is a hands-on, tangible way for people to be involved and feel a sense of achievement.
