Gifts from the Heart Christmas 2006 launched
Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR) is once again running the popular Gifts from the Heart program. This year, Gifts from the Heart offers a choice of five unique gifts in the form of a donation to CLWR that you can give your friends and family for Christmas.
It’s a fun, meaningful and simple way to gift-give! Gifts can be purchased by phone, mail or internet and you’ll receive a card from CLWR to personalize and send to each of your gift recipients. A charitable donation receipt will also be provided to you.
This year’s gift options span five countries and focus on a broad range of interests—from providing girls’ education in India, to planting fruit trees in Zambia, to facilitating much-needed dialysis services for Palestinians at Augusta Victoria Hospital.
Gifts from the Heart is a great way to express your care and compassion to others in the world during the Christmas season, and at the same time introduce someone in your life to the valuable work of CLWR. For more information or to place an order visit www.clwr.org or call us today!

Four Corners sales taking place across Canada
Groups and individuals from across Canada are busy hosting consignment sales for Four Corners – the alternative trade organization of CLWR. From Thunder Bay to Prince Rupert, Selkirk, Leduc and Leader, sales are being organized in dozens of cities and towns. With over 75 sales happening across the provinces, there’s bound to be one near you!
Four Corners offers giftware, textiles, crafts and consumables such as coffee that are purchased at fair prices from about ten developing countries. Products are sourced from work cooperatives that support the employment of women and men who might otherwise not be able to find meaningful work. These people include the disabled, people affected by leprosy and residents of refugee camps among others. The small-scale farmers of Four Corners coffee, tea and chocolate are supported by fair prices for their commodities, and are engaged in sustainable agricultural practices.
