What We Do: Supporting People Struggling Against Poverty
Canadian Lutheran World Relief seeks to address poverty and ease suffering among the poorest of the poor in the developing world. When natural disasters occur, CLWR responds with emergency relief. Quilts, blankets and kits are distributed in refugee camps and other communities that need them. In Canada, congregations and groups welcome refugees---strangers looking for a place to call home. In Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, CLWR strengthens communities against poverty's daily grind. Through CLWR's Alternative Trade Program, Canadians provide a fair wage to artisans determined to improve their lives. All of this becomes possible as CLWR connects Canadians with people courageously struggling against poverty in its many forms.
