Emergency Relief: Answering the Cry
In approximately 40 locations around the world people have had their lives severely disrupted due to natural or human initiated disasters. Many of these emergencies never come to anyone's attention while others are quickly forgotten.
Canadian Lutheran World Relief responds to those emergencies that impact its program areas or whenever there is widespread public concern expressed for the emergency. In whatever case, 100% of all donations are directed to the emergency designated by the donor. Please note, however, that governments do not usually match these donations.
In response to emergencies, CLWR will provide immediate assistance through the provision of relief supplies that address the short and long-term needs of the affected communities. CLWR works in cooperation with other organizations (Lutheran World Federation, Action by Churches Together) to provide the most timely and effective response to disasters wherever they may occur.
