Canadian Lutheran World Relief trains small groups, communities and leaders in Peru to initiate and direct community development projects so that they are sustainable.
Project: Training a Leader
50 leaders will be trained to conduct environmental protection campaigns.
Cost: $300 is the estimated cost for training one leader.

Project: Strengthen a Group
17 groups are being strengthened with additional technical skills so that they can carry out environmental protection and agricultural activities.

- Human Rights Projects
Canadian Lutheran World Relief supports projects in the Ancash region of Peru that train indigenous people in basic human and civic rights so that they can better address the root causes of poverty and thereby create more vibrant and resilient within their communities.
Project: Enviro-Rights
50 leaders will be trained to conduct campaigns that will address the environmental rights to clean water and land.
Cost: $1,000 is the estimated cost of providing training for one leader.

- HIV/AIDS
In Peru, the prevalence of HIV/AIDS is relatively low and limited to a few high-risk populations, primarily in urban centers. Canadian Lutheran World Relief's projects are mainly focused on rural areas and therefore, CLWR is not currently supporting any HIV/AIDS programs in Peru.
- Health Projects
Healthcare in Peru is somewhat better than Bolivia, but as always, there are many opportunities for improvement, especially in isolated regions. CLWR's project areas, however, have not identified healthcare as a priority and therefore, CLWR is not currently supporting any health programs in Peru.
- Education Projects
In Peru CLWR is providing teacher and students with the knowledge necessary to care for their environment.
Project: Environmental Education
CLWR will provide 43 teachers and 500 students with access to environmental education.
Cost: $6 is the estimated cost of providing one student with environmental education.
