Colombia Earthquake

Help Families Survive the Colombia Earthquake

CLWR is responding through the Lutheran World Federation, working with local partners on the ground.

A magnitude 7.4 earthquake has struck the department of Chocó, Colombia, one of the country’s most vulnerable and underserved regions. Homes have collapsed, roads and infrastructure are severely damaged, and families are sleeping outdoors, afraid to return to unstable buildings. More than 100 people have been confirmed dead, with the toll expected to rise as search efforts continue.

Our partner, the Lutheran World Federation, is on the ground with local partners assessing urgent needs and preparing to scale up emergency support. The first hours and days matter most

How your support will help

Emergency Shelter

You can help families find a safe place to sleep. Families whose homes were destroyed or damaged will receive emergency shelter materials and essential household items to stay safe while they begin to rebuild.

Clean Water & Sanitation

You can protect families from disease. Safe drinking water, sanitation support and hygiene supplies help prevent the spread of illness in the critical days and weeks after a disaster.

Psychosocial Support

The trauma of an earthquake doesn’t end when the shaking stops. Through local partners, trained staff will provide mental health and psychosocial support to help children and adults process loss and begin to heal.
