We all know we have a responsibility to care for God’s creation, but when we hear about the impacts of a warming world, it’s hard to know how to really make a difference.

Around the Lake Chad basin, thousands of farmers are fighting back to stop an entire ecosystem from unraveling. And we are standing with them. Over the past year, Friends of Creation supporters have helped restore over 17,626 acres of land in the region.

Restoring the land is a critical step. Yet a major challenge still remains: longer dry seasons and unpredictable rainfall make it difficult for families to grow crops all year round.

There are multiple ways you can get involved and make a difference.

Donate today to help communities install solar-powered irrigation systems so farmers can grow more food and diversify their crops. Your gift will also support training in climate-smart agriculture, composting and natural pest management so they can nurture the land for generations to come.

You can also go deeper and participate in the Friends of Creation challenge to learn more about the issues facing the region, and engage your community in making a difference.
